America's Funniest Comedians will Golf-it-out in Las Vegas to Help Tsunami Victims

Thirty-six (36) Stand-up Comics, teamed with personal golf "Ringers", will use the new World Series of Golf poker style golf format to determine the Last Comic Playing in a Tsunami Relief Charity Golf event! This wacky charity event might well be the funniest fund raising event to ever hit the links!

Las Vegas, NV January 17, 2005 -- World Series of Golf eWorld LLC, a Las Vegas company that operates the Internet based business activities for World Series of Golf Inc. has joined forces with Buck Star, the comedian who put America on the edge of their proverbial seats with laughter during last years Last Comic Standing reality series. The Tsunami Relief cause is no laughing matter for a group of 36 comic celebrities who are putting their money where their mouth is to help Tsunami victims in Asia.

Brian Keenan, owner and operator of WSG eWorld, is teaming up with Buck Star, who has never golfed before, to hold one of the most unusual golf tournaments the world has ever seen. Keenan who thought of this fund raising idea while chatting with Buck about his possible involvement in the new The World Series of Golf sports reality TV series scheduled to be released this fall. The WSG tournament format combines the drama of gamblers risking big money and the excitement of high pressure golf. Its elimination style format leaves one golfer standing at the end of all the match-ups and is designed to give non professional golfers a fair chance of beating even a pro golfer. Buck laughed when Keenan first explained the tournament because it reminded him of the Last Comic Standing TV series where he made his first big impression on American viewers.

As you might expect, Keenan and Buck have dreamed up some unique twists to the standard 5 day World Series of Golf tournament format. Like the standard tournament, Keenan insisted that the Buy-in format remain part of the game and for this event each comedian will contribute $1,000 of their own money to the Tsunami Relief Charity Foundation. Not to be outdone, Buck Star responded with his own twist that would allow the comedy golfer (no pun intended) to invite a professional golf ringer or at least partner who play very good golf to hit alternate shots for him or her. Many of the so called ringers will likely be well known Hollywood celebrities who play a pretty good game of golf. The ringers will also contribute $1,000 each to the charity.

Here is the modified format of play for the one day event that will keep everyone laughing on and off the golf course:
-    The event will be played at one of the spectacular golf courses in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 17th
-    The 36 Comedians and their personal ringers will be divided into sixsomes similar to the World Series of Golfs 3rd round tournament format.
-    Each team will start the day with $120,000 of funny money poker chips that will used to bet on each round of shots as the play progresses. The excitement of this betting element makes it possible for less talented golfers to compete by playing with their competitors heads through aggressive and timely betting.
-    The object is to combine good golf shots with wise betting to win all the money from the other players, just as in the World Series of Poker!
-    The Last Comic Playing in each sixsome at the end of the day advances to the final round later that day! They also earn an opportunity to showcase their stand-up comic talents at The Last Comic Playing Charity Dinner that evening at one of the Las Vegas hotels.
-    The final 6 Comedians will shoot it out for an additional 9 holes without their ringers for the bragging rights and top billing in the telecast event being produced by Comedy Central which hopefully will be re-broadcast to generate additional money for the Tsunami Relief cause.
-    The final 6 Ringers also play 9 additional holes to see who really is the best Ringer in Las Vegas!

The public will be able to contribute to the Tsunami Relief initiative by assessing The World Series of Golfs website, www.TheWorldSeriesOfGolf.com, and pledging contributions under their favorite comedians name. Tax receipts will be issued for all contributions over $25.00

Buck and Brian are now skewering the comedy clubs and celebrity hangouts across North America to find 36 generous comedians to fill the slate of celebrities who will golf-it-out on the fairways and greens the Thursday after Valentines Day to send Love and Money to the needy Tsunami victims in Asia. Details concerning the hotel where the comedians will stay and where the televised $200 a plate Charity Dinner will be held will be announced soon.
